2023 Skyrunning South American Championships

June 23-24, 2023 – Serra, Espirito Santo, Brazil

The second edition of the Skyrunning South American Championships will take place for the second time in Brazil, in Serra, Espirito Santo on the Mestre Alvaro mountain on June 23 and 24, 2023.

The three disciplines are VERTICAL, SKY and SKYULTRA. 21 medals at stake for individual and team titles.

Insanity Mountain Mestre Álvaro VK

June 23 – VERTICAL – 4.8 km long with 1,014m vertical climb

Insanity Mountain Mestre Álvaro 50Km

June 24 – SKYULTRA – 50 km long with 4,394m vertical climb

Insanity Mountain Mestre Álvaro 35k

June 24 – SKY – 35 km long with 3,300m vertical climb

Regulations

  • The event is open
  • All those wishing to represent their country in the Skyrunning South American Championships must be selected by their National Member
  • Every National Member can select a maximum of six participants per discipline with maximum four athletes of the same gender. Possible maximum distributions are: 4M+2W or 3M+3W or 2M+4W
    The maximum number of athletes per team is 18.
  • Organisers must host for every official country represented, a minimum of two athletes (half board)

Details

  1. National teams must communicate their official participation and the number of athletes divided by category by April 20, 2023.
  2. National teams must communicate the names of the athletes by May 20, 2023.
  3. Each Official National Team will receive two free entries and two complimentary half board accommodation.
  4. The VERTICAL race will be held on Friday, June 23, with a mass start.
  5. The SKYULTRA race will be held on Saturday, June 24, with a mass start.
  6. The SKY race will be held on Saturday, June 24, with a mass start.
  7. Medals (gold, silver and bronze) will be awarded to the top three ranked women and men for each discipline.
  8. A Team Ranking will be elaborated based on the individual points accrued by the top four athletes – at least one per gender – in each discipline.
  9. Other information regarding opening and closing ceremonies, doping controls, pasta parties and all the other activities will be communicated at a later date.

Skyrunning Brazil, the ISF member for Brazil, will sanction the event and oversee it with their referees.
