The first ISF Management Committee Meeting was held on Thursday, December 10, 2009at the splendid local headquarters of the Italian Mountaineering Club in Bergamo, Italy.

The meeting was convened according to the ISF statutes to examine and develop future strategies, approve the 2010-2012 calendar and assess the balance of the first year of activity.

The balance is very positive:  from the eight founder members last year, today the count stands at 12 full members, 15 including associate members.  Admission to a number of important nations is underway.

Looking back, the first World Series conducted by the ISF, counted athletes from 37 countries with an increase in athletes from Great Britain and Japan.

Looking forward, the 2010 calendar offers some significant changes:  five major races have been selected with the object of concentrating the competition, especially for élite athletes, in fewer races, while the Trials have been increased to nine events, including Russia for the first time.  The World Series rules have also undergone a change to the ranking points in the final race which will now be increased to 20%.

World Championship titles will be at stake in two skyrunning disciplines:  Vertical Kilometer® and SkyMarathon® and open championships for individuals and commercial teams in SkyRaid® and Ultra SkyMarathon®.  See calendar for details. 

In 2011 it will be the turn of the  Continental Championships and, in the Olympic year, the 2012 SkyGames® will be hosted by Spain.

Other business included provision for an international card which will allow teams to be ranked in the World Series. 
A new section of the Technical Commission will be formed to create an international skyrunning referee title, obtainable at specific courses. Holders of this title will be able to preside at any official skyrunning event to oversee and implement rules, safety and environmental issues.
